Now the time has come again
When all your work is done
And you need to rest a while
Allthough it seems you've just begun Come lie here beside mewe can lay our burdons downlet the battle rage outside'cause we've found our peace for now We're here togethersuch a short time it's true (won't you please)turn out the lightand kiss me goodnightand let the darkness shine through I can see as your eyes closewhat a rough day you've had
But one night in my armswill show you that things aren't really so bad the dark side's a blessingwhen you have done all you can
I can't change the past nowbut we can dream of a sweeter land We're here togethersuch a short time it's true (won't you please)turn out the lightand kiss me goodnightand let the darkness shine through We don't need electric lightbecause the moon is full and brightWe've got our own electricity
You know I can feel it, I can feel it when you're close to me We're here togethersuch a short time it's true (won't you please)turn out the lightand kiss me goodnightand let the darkness shine through
