Salvatore Cutugno, known as Toto Cutugno, was an Italian singer-songwriter, composer, lyricist, and television host born in Penne (Teramo) on July 27, 1943. His musical career began in the 1960s with participation in various music competitions. He achieved international fame in the 1980s with hits like "L'italiano", "Innamorati di me" and "Soli tu e io". Cutugno was a versatile artist, capable of spanning different musical genres, from pop to rock, passing through folk. He collaborated with numerous Italian and international artists, including Mina, Adriano Celentano and Joe Dassin. Throughout his career, he has won numerous awards, including two Sanremo Music Festivals (1980 with "Solo tu e io" and 1987 with "Innamorati di me"). Toto Cutugno is considered one of the most representative Italian artists of the international music scene of the 1980s.
