Waiting alone in the darkness
Racing for something
Hoping it stays
Watching the waves
Watch as they break
Leaving you nothing
Waiting to wake
Lost in disarray
Wakes that never fade
And you walking on by
You can't deny
You're making no change
Oh, you walking on by
I couldn't speak
Cuz neither am I
Waiting alone in the darkness
Racing for someone
Hoping they stay
Watching the days
Watch as they fade
Leaving you nothing
Waiting to wake
Lost in disarray
Waves that never break
And you walking on by
You can't deny
You're making no change
Oh, you walking on by
I couldn't speak
Cuz neither am I
Break me or something
Cuz I'm fading away
Am I waiting for nothing?
Am I dead or awake
Cuz I won't wait
But I won't break
Cuz...
Waiting alone in the darkness
Smiling and falling
Too frightened to say
We can't live this way
We can't still obey
When all's come to nothing
Who can still wait?
Lost in endless days
Waves that never break
And you walking on by
You can't deny
You're making no change
Oh, you walking on by
I couldn't speak
Cuz neither am I
The Like are an American alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in September 2001. The trio consists of Elizabeth "Z" Berg (vocals, guitar), Charlotte Froom and Tennessee Thomas (drums). All three come from families immersed in music: Berg is the daughter of producer Tony Berg, while Froom and Thomas are the daughters of Mitchell Froom and Pete Thomas, respectively. The band's name comes from an observation by Thomas' mother about the girls' frequent use of the word "like". After releasing three independent EPs between 2001 and 2004, The Like gained notoriety thanks to the song "(So I'll Sit Here) Waiting", used as the soundtrack for the film *Thirteen*. The song attracted media attention and led to collaborations with artists such as Phantom Planet and Kings of Leon. In 2004, The Like signed a contract with Geffen Records. Among their most representative songs are "(So I'll Sit Here) Waiting", "She Wolf" and "The Way You Move".

My favorite group when I was just a teenager were the Fugees, thanks to them a certain curiosity about english language was born in me. I wanted to know and understand the lyrics of their songs, it wasn't enough for me to be carried away exclusively by their beautiful music.
