Il nome del gruppo deriva dal brano "Motorhead" dei Hawkwind, in cui Lemmy suonava il basso prima di formare la sua band. Considerati pionieri dell'heavy metal speed, i Motörhead hanno influenzato generazioni di musicisti con un sound potente e aggressivo caratterizzato da riff veloci, testi provocatori e l'iconico growl di Lemmy.
