Witchfinder General is a British heavy metal band formed in Stourbridge in 1979. They take their name from the 1968 horror film *The Witchfinder General*. Considered one of the pioneers of doom metal, they have influenced generations of musicians with their dark and heavy music. The band's sound is characterized by heavy riffs, powerful drums, and a raspy voice. Among the most representative songs are "Death Penalty", "The Witchfinder General" and "Angel of Death".
