Sonny Burgess (Albert Austin Burgess) was an American rockabilly singer and guitarist active primarily in the 1950s and 1960s. Born in Arkansas in 1937, Burgess began his musical career playing in clubs in the southern United States. His energetic style and live performances led him to sign with Sun Records of Memphis, where he recorded some of his most famous hits such as "Red Headed Woman" and "Be-Bop-A-Lula". Burgess was a pioneer of rockabilly, influencing generations of musicians. His music is characterized by fast tempos, catchy guitar riffs, and lyrics that tell stories of love, everyday life, and fun. Besides "Red Headed Woman" and "Be-Bop-A-Lula", some of his most notable songs include "The Way I Feel" and "You're the One". Burgess continued to record music until the 1980s, maintaining a loyal fan base.
