Dashboard Confessional is an American musical group formed in 1998 in Gainesville, Florida. The project originated as a side project by Chris Carrabba, who was already the frontman of the band Further Seems Forever. The first album, "Swiss Army Romance" (2000), was primarily a solo effort, but with the success of the record, Carrabba formed a full band for the following album, "The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most" (2001). The group achieved international recognition with the 2002 MTV Unplugged album, which was certified platinum. Subsequently, Dashboard Confessional released other successful albums such as "A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar" (2003) and "Dusk and Summer" (2006), both reaching number two on the US Billboard charts. In 2007, the group returned to acoustic sounds with the album "The Shade of Poison Trees". Some of Dashboard Confessional's most representative songs include: "Hands Down", "Screaming Infidelities", "The Sharp Hint of New Tears", "Don't Wait" and "Stolen".
