Psychos originated in Siena, Italy, in January 2010 from the idea of Andy Romi, a guitarist, songwriter, and producer who over time becomes the core sound of the project, alternating between guitars and keyboards and taking on lead vocals. The first lineup features Manuel Conti on second guitar, Giulio Bizzarri on bass, and Luca Di Stefano on drums: in the first few months, the live activity grows rapidly, leading to the release of the self-produced debut "Ricordi", six tracks that define the band's identity between hard rock and progressive. In the following years, the group goes through lineup changes and an instrumental evolution that pushes compositions towards more complex intertwining and a songwriting increasingly linked to the 1970s rock school. From this phase comes the second self-produced album "Sol#", well received by critics and the public. In 2015, "Dritto al Cuore" arrives, a thirteen-track album recorded by Andy Romi in his own studio and mixed/mastered at Narada Studio; however, promotion and new internal adjustments slow down the continuity of the project, until a pause and restart phase. The pandemic interrupts the work on the fourth album and coincides with a decisive turning point: Andy Romi focuses his energy and skills on production, realizes and structures the Psychotic Studio, trains in the Avid/Pro Tools standard and obtains the Avid certification, adding to his artistic activity that of sound engineer and producer. With the return of founding drummer Luca Di Stefano, since late 2022 Psychos have started a new recording cycle: they release the single "Not Another Christmas Song" and complete "Look Into Your Soul" in a few months, distributed by Lotus Music Production on digital platforms. In summer 2024, the promotion of the album also brings the band to international publications, including the British PowerPlay Magazine. Today Psychos are working on a new concept album, a journey that confirms the dual nature of the project, rock songwriting and production vision, with Andy Romi at the helm of both the creative and technical aspects of the entire sound system.
