Riccardo D'Avino è un cantautore proveniente da Rivoli (TO). Dopo varie esperienze in gruppi musicali della zona, decide a fine 2008 di intraprendere un cammino in veste solista. Registra subito un EP intitolato "New Day", a cui farà seguito pochi mesi dopo un altro EP, "Fuggire e ritornare", pubblicato nel giugno del 2009. Dopo aver partecipato ad un provino per il talent show X Factor, nel settembre 2010 il cantautore incontra Guido De Gaetano, proprietario dell'etichetta Can Can Music Publishing. De Gaetano, convinto delle potenzialità di Riccardo, decide di metterlo sotto contratto. L'ep "Fuggire e ritornare" viene così ripubblicato dall'etichetta e messo in distribuzione digitale su iTunes (dove rimane per ben tre settimane in testa alla classifica dei download nel gennaio 2011) e sui maggiori digital stores in tutto il mondo. Viene inoltre realizzato un videoclip per il singolo "Due o tre cose che so di te". Nel 2012 Riccardo viene presentato dalla sua etichetta al 55° Festival di Castrocaro, la cui giuria è stata composta da grandi nomi della discografia italiana come Massimo Cotto, Franco Zanetti e Luca Valsiglio. Riccardo approda alle semifinali della manifestazione. Nell'ottobre 2012, l'etichetta lo presenta inoltre alle selezioni per Sanremo Giovani. Un altro importante progetto nel quale il cantautore è stato coinvolto è il "Diobò Project", un team di cantanti provenienti da tutta Italia e dall'estero che hanno prestato la propria voce per ?Siamo qui?, brano scritto in memoria del compianto motociclista Marco Simoncelli (scomparso in un tragico incidente durante il moto gp di Sepang) e i cui proventi sono andati interamente in beneficienza all?associazione Marco Simoncelli Onlus. Il singolo è uscito nel novembre 2012. Attualmente è in fase di lavorazione il primo album di Riccardo, la cui uscita è prevista nella primavera del 2014. L'album sarà anticipato dal singolo "E fine non avrà", che è stato rilasciato ufficialmente il 27 dicembre 2013.
