Dopo un periodo di inattività, Streben si propone come strumento di espressione personale, con l'obiettivo di dare voce al maremoto di pensieri ed emozioni che altrimenti rischiano di sommergere il soggetto. Il genere musicale di Streben è difficile da definire in modo preciso, ma presenta influenze del rock alternativo e dell'indie, con un focus sulla melodia e la ricerca di atmosfere introspettive.
