Vidra is an Italian musical duo formed in the summer of 2006 by Antonella "Giga" Gigantino (poet and vocalist) and Francesco "Frencio" Fecondo (keyboardist and composer). Initially, they leaned towards electronic sounds reminiscent of Eurythmics and Yazoo, before evolving into an Italian author-songwriter pop without abandoning their interest in music technology. Their first EP, "Origami", won the Sanremo Rock commission, bringing them to the People of Art stage (Modena) in 2007. The experience ended with a seventh place finish at the national finals. They followed up with the release of the song "Chiedi alla polvere" on a compilation distributed by the Mondadori Group and the Corriere di Sicilia, and participated in the "Una Botta di vita" charity concert for Evio Botta. In 2009, their first official EP, "Conti su Conti", was released, with the track "John Ford" included in the Rockit vol.6 compilation. They collaborated with RedEyeFilm of Genoa and participated in a multimedia concert opening for Musica Nuda. Between 2010 and 2011, they created shows like "Moby Dick, l?Oceano e i relitti musicali", "R.a.e.D -Requiem aeternam dona", "S|pace - Monologo a due voci" and "Grand Theft Vidra". The live lineup expanded with Davide Emanuele Zinna (guitarist and videomaker) and Michela Coppola (violist). In 2012, they returned to the studio for a new album, starting with the single "Cosa nasconde il cielo?", signed together with singer-songwriter Alessandro Orlando Graziano. Winners of the Broken Stone Festival, they opened for Bandabardò's concert in Contursi Terme.
