Biography

Paolo Cattaneo is an Italian singer-songwriter, active since 2002. He begins his career by releasing the album "L'Anima del Cipresso", chosen as the soundtrack by choreographer Claude Gerster. For several years he collaborates on various theatrical productions, including "The Dream and Life" by Francois Kahn. In 2002, he returns to music by participating in the Bandsyndicate compilation with Paolo Benvegnù and Giovanni Ferrario. In 2004, he releases the EP "Nero", collaborating with Hugo Race, first guitarist and collaborator of Nick Cave. In 2007, his first official album "L'Equilibrio Non Basta" is released by V2 Records, capturing the attention of critics for its nocturnal and fascinating atmospheres. With this album, he participates in Generazione X alongside Moltheni, Riccardo Sinigallia and Emilio Clementi, opening concerts for Perturbazione, Cesare Basile, Ivan Segreto, Hugo Race and Gianna Nannini. In 2009, his second intense album "Adorami e Perdonami" is released, produced with Daniele Sinigallia and featuring Riccardo Sinigallia, published by Eclectic Circus and distributed by Venus Dischi. The music video "Sei qui per me", directed by Daniel Marini, wins the PVI (Italian Video Clip Award 2009) for best photography. He is the artistic director of Voci Controvento, an event dedicated to new songwriting, which has hosted guests such as Marco Parente, Andrea Chimenti, Tricarico and Nada. In 2011, "Il Gioco" is released, a short, light, curated and original project, the result of a profound change not only in composition but also in sound and music of an artist usually characterized by a crepuscular and intimate style who rediscovers the playful aspect of music. This EP is produced by Stefano Clessi's Eclectic Circus and arranged by Matteo Cantaluppi.
