Somber Light è un gruppo musicale italiano formatosi a fine 2008. Il nucleo originario era composto da Carlo Polo (ex Oversonic), alla chitarra, e Leonardo Lucchese, chitarrista proveniente da una formazione con Alessandro Damoli. A loro si sono uniti Francesco Danilo Felis al basso, amico d'infanzia di Polo ed ex bassista dei Luiding, e Domenico Carnevale alla batteria, proveniente dal jazz e dalla cover band Antimateria. Dopo un breve periodo a quattro elementi, la band ha proseguito come trio con l'abbandono di Lucchese per motivi lavorativi. Il 2 maggio 2009 hanno registrato il primo demo omonimo, contenente quattro tracce. Nel febbraio 2011 è uscito il loro album di debutto, "Akira", un omaggio al maestro del cinema giapponese Akira Kurosawa. L'album, composto da sette tracce registrate nella sala prove del gruppo con la collaborazione di Dork (ex batterista dei Kreeps e ora nei Backing Band Project), presenta atmosfere evocative, distruzioni sonore e rumori dal fondo. "Akira" è stato presentato al Latte + di Brescia.
