William Thomas Ward, known as Bill Ward, is a British drummer and composer born on May 5, 1948, in Staffordshire, England. He is one of the four founding members of the legendary heavy metal band Black Sabbath, with whom he helped define the genre in the 1970s. Ward played with Black Sabbath until 1980, participating in fundamental albums such as "Paranoid", "Master of Reality" and "Vol. 4". After a series of collaborations and solo projects, he returned to play with the band on several occasions during the 1980s and 1990s, before rejoining permanently in 1997. Ward is known for his powerful and innovative drumming style, characterized by heavy rhythms and creative use of timbre. Among the most representative tracks where he demonstrated his mastery are "Iron Man", "War Pigs" and "Children of the Grave". In 2017, Ward released his first solo album titled "Fantasy", marking a new chapter in his musical career.
