Nagelfar sono una storica formazione black metal tedesca attiva dal 1993. Fondata da Zorn e Rhyktius V. Grhabakk von Meilenwald, la band ha subito diverse rotazioni nel suo roster iniziale. Dopo un lungo periodo di ricerca per un cantante principale, Smaug venne scelto, ma lasciò il gruppo poco dopo l'ingresso di Svein von Hackenberg al basso nel 1995. Jander sostituì Smaug in autunno dello stesso anno, mentre Garvin si unì come tastierista session. Nagelfar sono noti per la loro musica oscura e atmosferica, influenzata dal black metal classico europeo.
