Alarum is an Australian progressive technical metal jazz-fusion band from Melbourne. Active since 2004, the group stands out for a musical style that recalls the pioneers of the '90s Atheist and Cynic. Their influences include also Death, a band often reinterpreted in concerts. Alarum is currently working on their third album, *Natural Causes*, scheduled for release in March 2010. Among the new songs presented in concert are the track *Natural Causes*, *Latin* and two pieces provisionally titled *Liquorland* and *Thirsty Camel*. In 2007, guitarist Scott Young and drummer Matthew Racovalis left the band, replaced by Rob Brens. The search for a new guitarist is still ongoing.
