William Rory Gallagher (1948-1995) was an Irish guitarist, singer, and songwriter considered one of the greatest rock musicians of his time. Born in Ballyshannon, Ireland, Rory began playing guitar at age 14, influenced by artists like Muddy Waters and Eric Clapton. In 1967 he formed Taste, a blues-rock band that achieved great success in Europe. After the dissolution of Taste in 1970, Rory embarked on a highly successful solo career, releasing albums such as "Rory Gallagher" (1971), "Deuce" (1971) and "Irish Tour '74" (1974). His guitar style was characterized by incredible technique, power, and blues sensibility. Rory Gallagher was a tremendously talented and charismatic artist who left an indelible mark on rock history.
