MGMT (officially pronounced em-gee-em-tee but often incorrectly referred to as 'Management') is an American band based in Brooklyn, New York, consisting of Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden. Formed at Wesleyan University and originally with Cantora Records, they signed with Columbia Records and Red Ink in 2006. MGMT is known for its psychedelic pop sound that blends elements of indie rock, synth-pop, and electronic music. Their debut album, *Oracular Spectacular*, released in 2007, achieved international success thanks to tracks like «Kids» and «Time to Pretend», becoming a classic of the era.
