Deinonychus è stata una band di doom metal olandese formatasi nel 1992 da Marco Kehren. La band ha avuto un legame stretto con la formazione tedesca Bethlehem: Kehren ha fornito i cori per gli album *S.U.I.Z.I.D.*, *Reflektionen aufs Sterben* e *Profane Fetmilch lentzt elf krank*, mentre il bassista e paroliere di Bethlehem, Jurgen Bartsch, si è unito a Deinonychus nel 2005. I primi tre album e le demo iniziali rilasciate come *After the rain falls...an empty sky remains* vedono Kehren suonare tutti gli strumenti e cantare. Nel 1999's *Deinonychus* è stato coinvolto il batterista dei Cradle of Filth, William Sarginson, mentre nel 2002's *Mournument* la band ha registrato con una formazione completa.
