Il settantunesimo Festival di Sanremo si è svolto al teatro Ariston di Sanremo dal 2 al 6 marzo 2021 con la conduzione, per il secondo anno consecutivo, di Amadeus, il quale è stato anche il direttore artistico. Amadeus è stato affiancato da Fiorello, già presente nell'edizione precedente, e da cinque co-conduttrici: Matilda De Angelis nella prima serata, Elodie nella seconda, Vittoria Ceretti nella terza e Barbara Palombelli e Beatrice Venezi nella quarta. Zlatan Ibrahimovic e Achille Lauro sono stati gli ospiti fissi della manifestazione; quest'ultimo in particolare ha proposto, nel corso delle varie serate, esibizioni a tema definite da Amadeus «quadri audiovisivi». Per il secondo anno consecutivo la direzione musicale è stata affidata a Leonardo de Amicis, il quale ha anche diretto l'orchestra, mentre la regia è stata curata ancora una volta a Stefano Vicario. La scenografia è stata disegnata da Gaetano Castelli e Maria Chiara Castelli. Le coreografie sono state curate da Franco Miseria.
