Destruction is a German thrash metal band, considered one of the "three kings" of the Teutonic thrash metal scene, alongside Kreator and Sodom. All three bands are often credited with helping pioneer death metal, containing several elements that would become characteristics of the genre. Founded in 1982 in Spandau, near Berlin, the band has released over ten studio albums, including "Infernal Overkill" (1985), considered a classic of German thrash metal, and "Eternal Devastation" (1986).
