Kery James, real name Alix Mathurin, is a French rapper, singer-songwriter and record producer born in the French Antilles. He is known for being a member of the rap group Mafia K'1 Fry and for his lyrics characterized by a wide vocabulary, a critical view of society and the rap scene, and an uncompromising approach. Kery James is one of the founders of the Thug Life group in France in the 1990s. His music explores social themes such as racial discrimination, marginalization and urban violence, blending American hip-hop influences with French sounds. Among his most important albums are "Le Combat Continue" (2001), "L'Enfant du Ghetto" (2004) and "9e Art" (2013). Some of his most representative tracks are "Je Suis", "La Vie Est Belle", "Ma Ville", "Les Mots", and "Le Combat Continue".
