La Scelta sono una band che si forma a Roma nel 2006, attualmente è composta da Mattia Del Forno (voce, piano, synth), Francesco Caprara (batteria, percussioni), Emiliano Mangia (chitarre) e Marco Pistone (basso). Nel febbraio 2008 secondo posto al Festival di Sanremo 2008 con il brano "Il Nostro Tempo" nella categoria "Giovani", vincono il premio AFI e pubblicano il loro primo album che prende il titolo dal brano presentato a Sanremo. Lo stesso anno partecipano al Concertone del 1° Maggio in piazza San Giovanni a Roma. Sono figli della scena new rock che invade la capitale da oltre un decennio, il palco è il loro habitat naturale, hanno centinaia di concerti alle spalle, la loro musica parla lingue diverse, attinge dal ricco sottobosco italiano, guarda all'Europa e va a curiosare in giro per il Mediterraneo. Siamo sul terreno del suono multiculturale ma con radici salde nella tradizione testuale italiana. Fra il 2011 ed il 2012 registrano alcuni brani ad El Paso (Texas) con Fabrizio Simoncioni (sound engineer di fama internazionale, pluri-nominato ai Grammy Awards). Successivamente inizia un lunghissimo tour che vede La Scelta e Ron insieme sul palco, oltre 100 concerti in Italia e all'estero.
