Tom Waits (born Thomas Alan Waits on December 7, 1949) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and actor widely considered one of the most influential artists in contemporary music. Known for his gravelly, inimitable voice, theatrical performances, and songs characterized by dark and surreal atmospheres, Waits has traversed various musical phases, from blues to jazz, through experimental rock and avant-garde.
