Biografia

Gianluca John Attanasio is an Italian multi-faceted artist active as a singer-songwriter, composer, record producer, screenwriter, director, photographer and journalist. Specialized in modern piano and composition at the "Walter Savelli Music Laboratory" in Florence, he has released several albums since 1989 with labels such as Aliante / Time music (Sergio Cammariere), Warner / Chappell Music and EMI. Besides music, Attanasio has also worked on soundtracks for television, short films and theatre, collaborating with prominent names in the Italian and international music scene like Mike Applebaum (Zucchero), Geoff Westley (Lucio Battisti, Riccardo Cocciante, Bee Gees), Renato Serio (Renato Zero), Susanne Hahn, Roberto Guarino (Samuele Bersani, Loredana Bertè), Kathleen Hagen (Mario Biondi) and Walter Savelli (Claudio Baglioni). In 1998 he opened Claudio Baglioni's concert at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome with other Italian musicians. In 2005 he founded the musical project "Harmonia" with brothers Aldo and Roberto Gemma and French actress Martin Brochard as vocalist. In 2007 he won the Teatro ?Fondi La Pastora? Award for best music in "AK-47", a song by Daniele Scattina and Claudio De Santis. Among his works, we remember the short film "Last song", written with Kathleen Hagen, and the album "Soul of the ocean" containing 24 soundtracks. In 2012 he was invited to the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris to give a masterclass on the relationship between music and images in films, dance and theatre. Attanasio has also worked as a journalist for national Italian tabloids and international magazines specializing in music and theatrical criticism.
