Calling all gods from heaven and hell
Return to the chapel and ring the bell
Punish all the sinners, cleanse their souls
Drive the evil spirits back into their holes
[Chorus]
Into the fire, the bodies burn
Into the fire, there's no return
Feel the heat, the temperatures rise
Feel the heat, it's in your eyes
Raised from the dead, your body's alive
Escaped from the torture, you have survived
Your face is scarred to skin and bone
Scream for mercy with a howling moan
[Repeat chorus]
Calling all sinners who paid the price
Return to the chapel your sacrifice
You fought the black spirits, you thought you'd won
The battle of evil has just begun
[Repeat chorus]
Mortal Sin is an Australian thrash metal band formed in Sydney in 1985. Considered one of the most important bands of the Australian thrash movement, they helped define the aggressive and fast sound typical of the genre. Their musical style is characterized by fast and distorted riffs, powerful drums and lyrics often focused on themes of violence, social criticism and disillusionment. Among their most representative songs are "The Hammer", "Bloodlust" and "Death Before Dishonor". Mortal Sin have released several studio albums, including their self-titled debut album in 1987 and "World of Pain" (1989), considered a classic of Australian thrash metal. The band has collaborated with other important artists of the genre, such as Venom and Slayer. After a break in the 1990s, Mortal Sin reunited in 2000 to continue playing and recording music.
