Paolo Pietrangeli (Rome, 1930 – Rome, 2018) was an Italian singer-songwriter, poet, and film director. Considered one of the most important songwriters in the Italian music scene, he marked Italian music with his unique style, characterized by poetic lyrics and original melodies. Pietrangeli rose to prominence in the 1960s, collaborating with artists like Mina and Gino Paoli. His music often focuses on social and political themes, but it also features moments of great lyricism and sensitivity. Among his most famous songs are "My House", "The Sky in a Room" and "One Hour Alone". Pietrangeli also directed several films, including "The Man Who Laughs" (1967) and "Days of Love" (1970). His musical legacy lives on thanks to numerous artists who have reinterpreted his songs.
