Danilo Ruggero (born in 1991) is an Italian singer-songwriter originally from Pantelleria. After graduating high school, he moved to Rome and began performing in local clubs. In 2015, he was selected as a student at the Officina delle Arti Pier Paolo Pasolini, where he redefined his artistic project. In 2017, he was a finalist for the Fabrizio De André Prize and in 2018 won the Voci per la Libertà Critics' Award awarded by Amnesty International. In 2020, he was a finalist for the Andrea Parodi Prize. Ruggero often uses the Pantesco dialect in his lyrics, releasing his first EP, "In realtà è solo paura", in 2018, followed by a tour of Italy. He currently lives in Milan and collaborates with singer-songwriter Dadàmo.
