Scott Richard Weiland (born Scott Richard Kline, October 27, 1967 – December 3, 2015) was an American singer and musician. Known for his powerful and distinctive vocal style, Weiland rose to international fame as the frontman of Stone Temple Pilots, a rock band active from 1989 to 2013.
