Damageplan was an American heavy metal band from Dallas, Texas, formed in 2003. The group was born from the idea of brothers Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul Abbott to start a new musical project after the dissolution of their previous band, Pantera. The two recruited Pat Lachman, former guitarist of Halford, as vocalist, and later Bob Zilla on bass. The band's debut album, *New Found Power*, was released in the United States on February 10, 2004, reaching number 38 on the Billboard 200 with sales of 44,676 copies in its first week. The band's career tragically ended in December of the same year due to the murder of Dimebag Darrell during a concert.
