Enter Shikari is an English post-hardcore band formed in St Albans, Hertfordshire in 2003. The band's name derives from a boat belonging to a relative of one of the members and a character in a play written by Roughton "Rou" Reynolds before forming the band, both named Shikari. Shikari also means 'Hunter' in Marathi, Persian, Hindi, Nepali, Urdu, Punjabi and Bengali. The band is characterized by an energetic and innovative sound that blends elements of post-hardcore, electronic, metalcore and progressive rock. Their lyrics often deal with social, political and personal themes, with a strong narrative component.
