Biografia

Giacomo Schembari is an Italian singer-songwriter, musician, and theater actor born in Ragusa in 1968. His musical career began in the 1990s with his participation in the film "The Triptych of Antonello", directed by Crescimone and presented at the Venice Film Festival. Schembari has established himself as a composer for numerous theatrical recitals, including "Drops of Sicily" based on texts by Camilleri and Sciascia, and "The Man with the Flower in His Mouth" by Pirandello, collaborating with actor Paolo Schininà. In 2007 he came in second place at the Lennon Festival in Belpasso with the song "Richiami", included in the 2008 album "For every word I don't say". In 2010 he participated in the Sanremo Authors' Festival, performing with "Time out", a song acquired by the Milan-based label Advice Music. The same year he received the "Memorial Turù" Award in Marina di Ragusa. Since 2011 he has collaborated with the "Piccolo teatro Instabile Ibleo" theater company, making his acting debut in Lucia Cascone's play "Works in Progress". Schembari continues to be active in music and theater, working on his new album and the music for a new theatrical production.
