Lucio Dalla (Bologna, March 4, 1943 – Bologna, March 1, 2012) was an Italian singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and actor. Considered one of the greatest Italian singer-songwriters of all time, Dalla profoundly marked Italian music with his unique style, characterized by catchy melodies, poetic lyrics and a powerful and recognizable voice. After an initial period as a jazz musician, Dalla rose to prominence in the 1970s with hits like "Com'è profondo il mare", "Anna e Marco" and "Piazza delle rose". Throughout his career, he collaborated with artists from various musical genres, including Roberto Vecchioni, Gino Paoli and Francesco De Gregori. Dalla was also a respected theatrical and film actor. Among his most important albums are "Lucio Dalla" (1970), "Dalla" (1972) and "Canzoni".
