Down By Law is a punk rock band formed around 1990. Frontman Dave Smalley, already known for his work with Dag Nasty, collaborated with members of Chemical People for their debut album, going through several lineup changes over the years. Starting with Epitaph Records for their self-titled debut LP, DBL continued on Epitaph until "Last of the Sharpshooters" in 1997.
