Crimpshrine was a punk rock band from Berkeley, California. Formed in 1982 by Aaron Cometbus, founder of the seminal punk rock zine Cometbus, and his friend Jeff Ott, the group quickly gained a following within DIY communities. Considered one of the most important punk bands, especially in the Bay Area scene, Crimpshrine is known for its raw and powerful music, influenced by bands like Black Flag and The Minutemen. Their sound is characterized by distorted guitar riffs, aggressive drums, and political and introspective lyrics. Among their most representative songs are "The Last Time", "I Don't Care" and "No More Heroes". Crimpshrine released several vinyl albums, including their self-titled debut album in 1984 and the follow-up "Live at the Gilman Street Project" in 1985. The band disbanded in 1987, but its influence on the punk landscape remains evident.
