Emmylou Harris è una cantautrice statunitense nata in Alabama nel 1947. Considerata una delle figure più influenti della musica country degli anni '70 e successivi, ha saputo combinare elementi folk, country e rock in un sound unico. La sua carriera musicale ha preso una svolta importante nel 1971 quando Chris Hillman, membro dei Byrds e dei Flying Burrito Band, l'ha presentata a Gram Parsons, pioniere del country-rock.
