Glenn Hughes (Cannock, Staffordshire, England, August 21, 1952) is a British bassist and vocalist known for being the lead vocalist of Black Sabbath in the mid-1980s, as well as playing bass and singing for Deep Purple's Mk. III and IV lineups. Hughes has also had a prolific solo career, releasing numerous successful albums. Considered one of the greatest rock bassists of all time, he is famous for his powerful and versatile voice, ranging from blues to hard rock.
