lui qui trainait si mal sa vie
depuis les tranchees de la meuse

et qu'a la fin s'est pendu
pour oublier les mitrailleuses
et bien c'est lui seul qu'a ose
monter sur un' chaise pour couper
la corde passee dans la charpente...
pres d'nous il a veille le mort
les enfants dans le corridor
a la cuisine femmes et servantes!
depuis ce jour il a le droit
d'avoir sa place d'hausser la voix
dans le cafe a la manille...
pendant trent'ans il a refuse
d'etre le maire car il disait
"ce que je fais c'est plus utile"...
bien sur il etait du banquet
a chaque passage du depute
lors des tournees electorales
sa belle montre sur son gilet
en bout de table il ecoutait
tout's ces promesses qui restaent verbales...
on lui disait: docteur vos vieux
ceux de l'hospice qui n'ont plus qu'eux
pour qu'ils votent on les accompagnent...
lui repondait tres vaguement
avec un salaud tout en d'dans
"je n'suis qu'un medecin de campagne..."
il y a un mois il s'est couche
il n's'est plus jamais releve
mem'les medecins ca quittent la terre...
ell'port'ra son nom c'est normal
la vieille rue pres du canal
il l'habita la vie entiere...
il dort bien en face aux peupliers
dans not'cim'tiere ou quand vous marchez
les chants d'oiseaux vous accompagnent...
sur la place on guette tous l'autocar...
