
Daedalus è una band italiana di Progressive Metal originaria di Genova. Formatasi nel 2000 dall'idea di Fabio Gremo, il gruppo ha lavorato fin da subito su un sound originale, ispirandosi a diverse realtà musicali come Queen, Arena, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden e Rush. Nel 2003 esce il loro primo album, "Leading Far From a Mistake". Nel 2009, con la collaborazione di Galileo Records e ProgRock Records (distribuzione SPV), viene pubblicato "The Never Ending Illusion", che vede la partecipazione come ospiti di Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth) e Alessandro Corvaglia (La Maschera di Cera). Il mix è curato da Roland Grapow (Helloween, Masterplan) mentre l'artwork è realizzato da Mark Wilkinson (Marillion, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden). L'album esplora il dualismo tra realtà e illusione attraverso dieci brani che tracciano un percorso dalla vita quotidiana fino alla contemplazione dei propri sogni. Nel 2011 esce "Motherland", terzo album per Galileo Records, caratterizzato da undici canzoni piene di forza, melodia e riflessione. I testi affrontano le inquietudini del mondo contemporaneo e analizzano elementi che potrebbero portare al crollo della società moderna. Roland Grapow (Helloween, Masterplan) contribuisce con un assolo di chitarra e il mixaggio, mentre Trevor (Sadist) e Elisa Montaldo (Il Tempio delle Clessidre, Museo Rosenbach) sono rispettivamente ospiti vocalist e tastierista principale. L'artwork è realizzato da Nerve Design (Threshold, Extrema, Vision Divine, Sadist). Daedalus si è esibito in numerosi concerti in importanti locali italiani, aprendo per artisti come Claudio Simonetti (Goblin, Daemonia), Daniele Liverani (Twinspirits), DGM, Extrema, Misfits, Stramonio e Simon Says.
