Music: F. Gremo
Lyrics: G. Spanò
I moved my steps
along that road
I used to walk each day on
I wore my usual hat
grey like the rain
and lost myself in the night
Darkness around
melting with distinct sounds
woke my soul
I felt the need to rise my head
right to the moonlight
I moved my blind eyes
and found a thousand sights
They unify
tunes arise and
whispering words they tell
of beautiful lives or sadly broken
running to their own fates
brothers you never have dreamed of
My Lord,
how can this be fine?
What's that?
Why they speak so loud
while I walk proudly on my path
into this world?
Lonely soul
I know that
they say the sun is still
but every night eve, while I'm sitting
it burns my room with red
falling behind those dark highlands
I, living my life
center of time
perspective of God
you, shining of stars
fade away as new moons rise
Singing their songs they cast
wonderful spells from stars that tell us:
while you sleep someone dies
warm tears drop from their sad eyes and
while your last grain of breath,
leaves your weak mouth and flies
someone is making love
under this moonlight
Daedalus is an Italian Progressive Metal band from Genoa. Formed in 2000 by Fabio Gremo, the group has worked since its inception on a unique sound, drawing inspiration from diverse musical realities such as Queen, Arena, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden and Rush. In 2003 their first album, *Leading Far From a Mistake*, was released. In 2009, in collaboration with Galileo Records and ProgRock Records (SPV distribution), *The Never Ending Illusion* was released, featuring guest appearances by Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth) and Alessandro Corvaglia (La Maschera di Cera). The mixing was handled by Roland Grapow (Helloween, Masterplan) while the artwork was created by Mark Wilkinson (Marillion, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden). The album explores the duality between reality and illusion through ten songs that trace a path from everyday life to the contemplation of one's own dreams. In 2011 *Motherland*, their third album for Galileo Records, was released, characterized by eleven songs full of strength, melody and reflection. The lyrics address the anxieties of the contemporary world and analyze elements that could lead to the collapse of modern society. Roland Grapow (Helloween, Masterplan) contributes with a guitar solo and mixing, while Trevor (Sadist) and Elisa Montaldo (Il Tempio delle Clessidre, Museo Rosenbach) are respectively guest vocalist and main keyboardist. The artwork was created by Nerve Design (Threshold, Extrema, Vision Divine, Sadist). Daedalus has performed numerous concerts in important Italian venues, opening for artists such as Claudio Simonetti (Goblin, Daemonia), Daniele Liverani (Twinspirits), DGM, Extrema, Misfits, Stramonio and Simon Says.

My favorite group when I was just a teenager were the Fugees, thanks to them a certain curiosity about english language was born in me. I wanted to know and understand the lyrics of their songs, it wasn't enough for me to be carried away exclusively by their beautiful music.
