
Riccardo Ruiu is an Italian singer-songwriter born in Sardinia. His musical journey begins with performing covers, evolving into original composition inspired by Italian songwriting. His songs are characterized by social and romantic themes, often reflected in the lyrics. In 2009, he collaborates with poet Jacqueline C. Miù (Uccelli blu, Joker man). In 2010, he releases his debut album, "È l'amore", containing songs in Italian, English, and Spanish. Among the most notable tracks are "È l'amore" and "I can't sleep", an English version of "No potho reposare", a classic of traditional Sardinian music. He participates in various festivals, including the "Tour Music Festival" presided over by Mogol, where his lyrical sensitivity is appreciated. In 2010, he moves to Berlin, performing in local venues as a solo artist. Over the following years, he participates in international songwriting competitions such as the Great American Song Contest, the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and the American Songwriter. He releases the single "Che ridere Presidente" in 2020 and "Bella as a torrare", a Sardinian song that launches a solidarity project for the town of Bitti, in 2021. In 2021, he receives an honorable mention at the "Premio Internazionale CET Scuola Autori di Mogol" for the lyrics of the song "Senza te" from his debut album "È l'amore". Currently, he combines his songwriting career with authorship, offering his work to established artists in the Italian music scene.
