Steve Winwood (born Stephen Lawrence Winwood on May 12, 1948) is a legendary British musician known for his diverse career spanning rock, blues, soul, and jazz. He began playing music at a young age, joining The Spencer Davis Group at the age of 16. With them, he achieved great success in the 1960s with hits like "Gimme Some Lovin'". After the group disbanded, Winwood joined Traffic, a psychedelic band that saw him compose and perform hits like "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" and "Feelin' Alright". In 1969, he formed Blind Faith with Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, and Steve Stills, a supergroup that recorded a self-titled album before disbanding.
