Mario Cafarelli nasce a Portici (Na) il 29.10.1974 da padre Napoletano e madre Parlemitana. Quarto di 5 figli coltiva sin da bambino la passione per la poesia, la musica e l'arte in genere. Nel 1983 ad appena 9 anni vince il premio di poesia Diodato Del Gaizo con "Portici" poesia dedicata alle problematiche sociali della sua città natale. Comincia a studiare musica trascinato dalla passione musicale napoletana degli anni 80 e 90. Nasce come percussionista e batterista ma in adolescenza comincia la sua vera evoluzione musicale cominciando a bruciare le tappe sulla chitarra anche grazie a due grandi maestri Raffaele Cangiano e Vincenzo Cafarelli. Notevole l'influenza di Pino Daniele, De Crescenzo, James Senese, e gli atri grandi artisti della nuova napoli degli anni 80/90. Nel 1985 fonda assieme ad Agostini Martini ed Antonio del Gaizio i Toledos Band . La particolarità di questo gruppo era nella giovane età dei componenti che non si limitavano a suonare cover ma cantavano brani inediti scritti insieme. Nel 1990 partecipano alle selezioni nazionali di Castrocaro, al festival della Musica di autore di Napoli ottenendo anche il premio critica per i migliori testi. Nel 1992 esordisce come autore al teatro Roma di Portici in live performance d'autore con una nuova band composta da Alessandro Cangiano (drums) Ferdinando Palumbo (Bass) ed il maestro Raffaele Cangiano (Guitar). Nel 1994 comincia la contaminazione americana di Cafarelli che collabora con la band jazz Station della U.S.A. Navy in La Maddalena (SS). In quella occasione conosce AL Melone importante saxfonista jazz americano con il quale incide due brani "Notorius" e "Stop me". Dal 1997 al 2001 collabora saltuariamente con "Guido Lembo" presso l'Anema e core di capri. Contemporaneamente collabora con Mimmo Bufalino, Paolo Lucchese, Mariano Rongo (ZOORAMA), Sergio di Natale, Michele Cataldo, Mario Merola, e Pippo Matino. Nel 2000 fonda assieme a Vincenzo Gargiulo il "laboratorio Musicale Partenopeo" con la stesura di numerose partiture per commedie brillanti. Nel 2002 incide assieme agli "Afric free" gruppo nigeriano il singolo "wind". Nel 2003 collabora con l'illustre maestro Pietro Lanacaprina a Livorno per le musiche del celeberrimo "Il Pugno chiuso di Dio". Negli anni successivi collabora con numerosi artisti francesi ed italiani che lo porta a suonare con l'orchestra sinfonica scarlatti al "Concerto per l'epifania" presso l'Auditorium Rai di Napoli il 31 Dicembre 2009. Nel 2012 arriva la conoscenza di Claudio Luongo e Salvatore Mignano che decidono di produrlo seriamente e di proiettarlo finalmente nel panorama nazionale della musica italiana. Nasce così la collaborazione con la S.M.C. Salvatore Mignano Comunication che sta producendo il suo nuovo lavoro discografico.
