Es klopft und klopft der Sensenmann
zu dieser grillenhaften Stund'!

Fällt er in den Sumpf, macht der Reiter plumps!

Hutsch, ja hutsch, mein Schaukelgaul,
Hetze schacker, schacker durch den Totenpfuhl!
Macht das Pferdchen trib, trib, trab...
Fällt - sein Reiter ab!

Er hetzt diesen schnöden Schaukelgaul, ganz müd' und alt, die Peitsche knallt!
treibt ihm die Gischt ins leere Maul und peitscht das Pferdchen kalt!
Ritt ein Bub auf `nem roten Stöckelein, hob die Rute, hoch das Bein!
Nun ist es tot, das Bübelein, und schläft in einem Schrein!
DIE BUCKLIGE (spricht)
Es hüpft das Pferd, irr, verstört...
Trägt ihn durch den Totenacker...
Den Sumpf entlang, zum Einbaum trabt's
und macht dann zufrieden kehrt.
Der Jud, ganz wirr, verliebt sich laut,
in Sumpfes Gestank ganz wacker...
Es modert fast, der Gaul geschasst,
hüpft vorwärts, das Schaukeltier!

Höher, schneller! Dieser Duft wird noch viel greller!

Das Pferd bleibt stehen im Sumpfe dann,
just in diesem grausig' Loch.

Der Gaul, der Gaul verreckt im Dreck,
